Please Read this BEFORE Proceeding:
I receive many phone calls regarding the REX 6000 Purchase. Most of these could be avoided or self answered If you were to read the details below - I spent time typing the details so that you could READ them.
1.) Please do not ask me for a MAPS quote - call the post office or the MAPS carrier and get a MAPS quote - I do not do this for a living - I am only offering these to the REX community as a courtesy.
2.) Please do not send me email asking if I have any in stock - If you are reading this I DO have Rex units in Stock! ( As of 2/19/05 - I have over 250USB units and over 86 serial units.)
3.) Read the ENTIRE posting before you ask me ANY questions - every detail of the transaction is posted below.
4.) Allow 8-10 weeks for processing - I do not do this for a living. I will send the units when it is conveinent to my schedule.
5.) There are no exceptions to the above. No - you cannot get your order expedited - If the time is a problem get a unit from someone else.
I have the L008 Serial numbers with confirmed 2mb of memory. These are US models - not overseas models and come with retail boxes and all the drivers, CD, leather case, stylus, cradle, etc... (PLEASE NOTE: The retail packaging boxes do show some signs of wear/handling), but the units themselves are like new with the protective sticker on the face. They come with new batteries, and confirmed memory. USB or Serial model is $100.00 United States Dollars plus MAPS - if you want to add a extra Serial or USB dock to your order so that you have both interfaces add $20.00 for Serial or USB. (The USB cable alone is worth $20.00 from compusa.) You may be able to locate some less expensive REX's but I have been looking for a long time since INTEL discontinued this product, and I have not been able to locate the US L008 serial numbers in a retail box - When I found these I bought them all - I paid more, so that I could get the actual retail product that I have been looking for. If you are looking for a REX 6000 without the L008 Serial number, without the retail packaging, Check out EBAY for these - There are a bunch out there - with L007 Serials. (I guess you get what you pay for) I have contacted all of the eBay guys and NO-ONE has the retail boxes - and I haven't found anyone with the L008 serial numbers, I don’t sell personal electronics for a living, but the guys who I bought these from wouldn't sell me just a few - It was either all or none (I love the rex, so it really wasn't an option for me to decline - even If I get stuck with all of them - at least I will have a lifetime supply.) - So I have a ton of these now and I want to offer them to the rex community. I think that my asking price is fair considering the time and effort that I put into the acquisition of these units; as well as ensuring the end user that he is getting what he pays for. I do have some used L008 serial numbers (slight surface wear marks and scratches/dings - very minor but noticible.) that I would sell for $85.00 plus MAPS. (with new batts).
(FREE - Bonus CD with REX 6000 apps if you order 3 or more Units.)
I also have available some units with bruised screens - If anyone is interested in having one to take apart for?? I have a few @ $25.00 a piece plus MAPS.
If anyone is interested in purchasing a USB cradle or a serial cradle and cable only - the price is $30.00 plus box plus MAPS - (Read the box charge below.)
Anyone considering ordering from me is welcome to call during my normal business hours Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Central Standard Time.
If you want to place a order then call UPS, Fedex, Postoffice. or whomever you desire to use for MAPS - and ask for a MAPS quote from my zip code (70433-3801) to your zip code, the MAPS weight is 3lbs per unit in a MAPS box - take this MAPS quote - add it to your order and mail me a cashiers check or a money order ONLY made out to Gaston B. Mugnier for the total amount to this address - I do not accept any other form of payment.
NOTE: Minimum MAPS BOX charges are $5.00 for one unit and $8.00 for two units.

If you are interested in the differences between the euro versions and the US versions here is some info that I found. All overseas models have only 1MB of memory (you can confirm this by the Serial Number) All overseas models are 1MB versions of the REX 6000 they have L007 Serial numbers. All US Models have 2MB of Memory - They have L008 Serial Numbers.
Discount might be negotiated if 5 or more units are on one order
Thanks

Gaston,
Thanks for the prompt service. All three of the Rex6000s were as advertized, and arrived in good shape.

Thanks for the fast turnaround on the order, Gaston. Everything arrived today in good order and just as-described.
I just installed mine under 2003 Server and have it sync'ing with Outlook 2000 using the USB cradle. Nice! |

The units arrived today. The REXs are in good shape as promised.
As soon as I saw the REX (my first one was from a friend who 'closeted' one for over a year), I knew it was exactly what I wanted. I ditched my $400 Sony Clie and now work exclusively with the humble REX - even seamlessly syncing with Lotus Notes and Palm Desktop simultaneously! The two REXs that you sent me will be my backup units in case of disaster.
Thanks to you, I will be REXing for the forseeable future - or at least until something similarly tiny is developed. Thanks again for the great service. |

Yeah, I'm REALLY past due on this, but I got one from him and the rex itself is in excellent condition. Box is a little banged up but who cares? Now I have me a spare for when I put the rex in my back pocket and sit on it. Usually I just put it in a shirt pocket or don't bother taking it. Still looking for something that will hold it and not bend in the least bit, especially when a 200+ pound guy is sitting on it |

Hello Gaston,
Could you please give some more details about the payment possibilities? Although the terms "cashier's check" or "money order" may be clear to the US residents, they do not sound familiar to the banks in The Netherlands.
Sorry for disturbing you with this stupid question, but you offer your Rex 6000 to all members of this forum, not only to the US members.
Miguel
PS: I know this should be a private e-mail, but I hope I can get an answer this way. |

The only forms of payment are listed in the original posting - If you go to your bank ask for a certified cashiers or teller check from your bank payable in United States Dollars for the amounts listed above - all other info is listed in the posting.. Please do not ask me for a MAPS quote....... |

Another shipment of Rex's came in, so I will have plenty for many years to come to supply to the Rex community.
