I downloaded the RRC archive from http://lists.mamy.to/pipermail/rrc/ thanks to Majek of rex.mamy.to. It's 21 megs  Now begins the fun of parsing the file out so that it can be entered into the forum. I should be able to get me a script that can do this, just hope I'll be able to find the time. |

Well, I started to make some progress on that parsing. Set up the basic code and was able to do a count on the number of messages, It added 1 every 500 messages, and it counted 24. So there's anywhere between 12,000 and 12,500 messages there no wonder it locked up my computer when I tried to dump all the data to the browser  I still have a couple glitches to fix in it. Also found it interesting that just to go and count all those took 36 seconds, which is EXTREMELY long in computer time. Most scripts execute in milliseconds Once it's all in the database, I plan on just making a temporary search page for now until I can figure out how I want to integrate it with the message board. Hopefully I'll get it all in the db today (Sunday). Since all I have to do is fix a couple multiple line problems and then add the code to insert it into the database. |

woohoo I'm happy. I finished that script and got all the information thrown into a database, all 12,401 messages. Only took 41.6085 seconds, too. Probably because it was all happening on my server. I plan on making a quick search page that lets you search it, that shouldn't take any time but it probably won't get done tonight since I want to make it a little more clean then the mess that the parse script is in.    |

| Just a quick note to let everyone know I've started to make the pages for this. Right now it's in alpha. I still want to set up some limits and being able to report messages with data all messed up, etc. Once i get a beta version in place that will be able to do things like paginate the results and have some sort of formatting to it, i'll post it here. |

OK, since I've been getting a few people asking for it, here it is. Right now it will only show up to 100 results, there's no colors to it or anything. But you can do searches and you can see results. I just ask you don't directly link to any of the messages for the time being since I may change some of the pages and links won't work. Thanks.
