My Rex 6000 is strating to flake out. I am affraid it is going to die soon.
Has anyone found a real, currently available, and supported alternative to the Rex 6000?
The most important requirements for me are:
1. Pocket size (same as Rex 6000)
2. Calendar function with alarms
3. Input ability for appointments
4. Synchronize with Microsoft Outlook
The Rex 6000 is such a great LITTLE PDA. I can't believe no other company is making a similar device! |

I haven't found an alternative so I bought a 10 years supply. It turned into a 5 year supply when my wife fell in love with the Rex. However, we could let one go if you can't find one. |

I'm curious, with the iPod Nano if it would be a basic stand in for the rex? The iPod can store contacts, calendars, and notes. The iPod Photo and all new iPods that are in color will store photos. It has games, etc. Only downside is everything is read only, to actually add appointments and contacts you have to be at a computer and add them that way and then resync it to your iPod. Plus you get 4gigs of music on something smaller then the rex with a a color screen Still lacks the functionality of the rex, but would be an interesting "up to date" thing that people can use if there are problems with getting a rex or don't need all the extra functions and don't mind keeping things up to date on their computers. Any thoughts? |
